Expanding Circles of Happiness and Contributing to Solving Society’s Challenges

Since our founding, we have steadily progressed to embody our corporate motto “Happiness,” established by our founder, Fumio Wakita. Our founder often said, “A company must value the prosperity and happiness of each employee. To achieve this, it must pursue profits and build a strong and stable organization.” Since our founding, we have consistently maintained a management approach focused on building a solid financial foundation and creating an environment in which employees can work with peace of mind.

Building on this philosophy, I would like to expand the scope of “Happiness” even further. We believe that the ideal role of a company is to enrich not only its employees, but also all stakeholders surrounding the Company—beginning with our customers, and extending to business partners, financial institutions, shareholders, and local communities—both economically and spiritually. It was with this very conviction that, in April 2022, we declared our “Second Founding” and made a major shift from stability to growth.

I believe that, now as in the past, the essence of business lies in solving the challenges faced by our customers and society. The seeds of new businesses can only be found within our customers and within society itself. As long as people live in this world, new challenges will inevitably arise. It is within those challenges that business opportunities lie. How deeply and earnestly we can think about the challenges faced by our customers and society—that is the source of our competitive strength.

Our core Construction Machinery Business plays an extremely important role in the civil engineering and construction industry by supporting the maintenance and renewal of social infrastructure. At a time when climate change is increasing the frequency of flood and storm damage and the risks of natural disasters such as earthquakes remain ever present, coupled with the aging of post-war infrastructure-resulting in accidents involving tunnels, bridges, and sewer pipes across Japan-continuing to protect such infrastructure is itself the very foundation that supports the lives and livelihoods of people. In the Nursing Care Division of our Commercial Affairs, we are working to address the challenges of a declining birthrate and an aging population, looking ahead to 2040, when the Dankai Junior second baby boomer generation will reach the age of 65. We position our Karaoke Division as a cultural business that supports the fundamental human activity of bringing people together and connecting with one another through song. Our Real Estate Business provides local communities with quality living environments, working environments, and places to relax.

Our strength has long been our unique “hybrid management” business model, which combines the sales and rental of construction machinery. In recent years, by incorporating technologically advanced companies such as WAKITA CSS Co., Ltd. and TAIYU Co., Ltd. into the Group, we have built a system that enables us to offer distinctive solutions in areas such as ICT-based construction support, remote operation, automation, autonomous operation of civil engineering and construction machinery, as well as temporary construction equipment. Although construction machinery rentals and nursing care equipment rentals operate in different business domains, we will continue to create synergies across the Group by leveraging the shared know-how of rentals as a form of the sharing economy.

We will also continue to strive to be a company that sincerely addresses social challenges and contributes to the happiness of all stakeholders.
